Purpose of the Role
To support day-to-day electrical maintenance of the Hot Rolling Mill and keep equipment available with minimum breakdowns and delays
Job Responsibilities (KRA)
- Carry out breakdown and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment in the mill (reheating furnace area, roughing mill, finishing mill, run-out table, down coilers).
- Attend breakdowns quickly, find the root cause and restore the equipment in the shortest time.
- Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC drives, HT/LT motors, MCCs, switchgear and transformers.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI and drive-related issues (Level 1 automation).
- Maintain sensors, limit switches, encoders, load cells and other field instruments.
- Follow the preventive and predictive maintenance schedule and keep records.
- Prepare breakdown reports and support root cause analysis (RCA).
- Plan and execute shutdown jobs along with the team and contractors.
- Control spares consumption and raise spare requirements on time.
- Follow plant safety rules, permit-to-work and LOTO procedures.
- Support energy saving and reliability improvement jobs.
Job Requirements (KPI)
- 1–5 years in electrical maintenance in a steel plant; hot rolling mill experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC drives (Siemens, ABB or similar).
- PLC knowledge (Siemens S7 / Allen Bradley or similar).
- Good understanding of motor control, protection systems and electrical drawings.
- Able to handle shift work and breakdown situations.
- Basic knowledge of SAP / maintenance management system is an advantage.
