Purpose of the Role
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring smooth and reliable plant operations through effective shift maintenance, breakdown handling, preventive maintenance and equipment availability.
Job Responsibilities (KRA)
Shift Call Response
- Attend all mechanical shift calls within target response time, round the clock
- Ensure no plant stoppage occurs due to lack of or delayed mechanical response
- Take immediate containment action on developing defects and escalate as required
- Coordinate with CCR and Process shift teams on isolation, restart and clearance
- Complete structured shift handover covering open jobs, risks and pending clearances
Maintenance Execution & Availability
- Execute preventive maintenance jobs allotted to the shift as per schedule
- Attend and rectify breakdowns with correct root cause identification
- Support reliability factor, equipment availability and MTBS targets
- Record job details, spares consumed and observations in SAP and shift logs
PM Cell Compliance
- Act on PM Cell walk-by inspection observations allotted to the shift
- Achieve above 90% compliance on assigned PM Cell observations
- Report new defects observed during shift rounds into the PM Cell system
Stores & Spares
- Draw and consume spares against the shift target without wastage
- Ensure correct spares are used and returns are processed promptly
- Flag critical spare shortages to the Section In charge in advance of failure
Safety
- Obtain and enforce work permits, LOTO and isolation for all shift jobs
- Ensure correct PPE and safe access for self and contractor workmen in the shift
- Report near misses and unsafe conditions observed during shift rounds
- Conduct toolbox talks at shift start for critical jobs
Housekeeping & Innovation
- Maintain housekeeping standards in shift work areas to achieve a 5-star rating in internal audits
- Submit at least two improvement or innovative ideas each year
