Security Head

Purpose of the Role
Lead plant security from the project stage to full operations. Set up the security system, protect people, assets and material, and maintain smooth relations with local authorities and the community

Job Responsibilities (KRA)
Security Set-up (Greenfield)

•       Plan and set up the full security system for the plant and project site: gates, access control, patrolling, CCTV and control room.

•       Prepare security SOPs, deployment plans and emergency response plans.

•       Manage site security during construction with a large contractor workforce and open boundaries.

Plant and Material Security

•       Control movement of people, vehicles and material at all gates.

•       Monitor weighbridge, inward and outward material, and dispatch to prevent theft and pilferage (coal, fuel, clinker, scrap, spares).

•       Carry out vigilance checks, surprise audits and investigations; submit reports to management.

Security Agency and Team Management

•       Select, deploy and manage outsourced security agencies; monitor contract terms and performance.

•       Train guards on duties, conduct, fire safety and emergency drills.

•       Manage the in-house security team and shift rosters.

Liaison and Community

•       Maintain working relations with police, district administration and other local authorities.

•       Handle law-and-order issues, local agitations and gate blockades in coordination with HR and Admin.

•       Support land and community-related matters as needed during the project phase.

Emergency and Compliance

•       Coordinate with Fire and Safety teams for emergency response and mock drills.

•       Ensure compliance with applicable rules for private security, arms (if any) and plant protection.

•       Manage VIP visits and protocol at site.

Job Requirements (KPI)

•       8 – 10 years in industrial security, with at least 3 years leading security at a plant.

•       Experience in cement, steel, power, mining or similar heavy industry.

•       Hands-on experience in material movement control and theft prevention.

•       Experience managing outsourced security agencies.

•       Strong liaison with police and local administration.

Preferred

•       Ex-Armed Forces / Para-Military background.

•       Greenfield or project-site security experience.

•       Working knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi.

•       Exposure to CCTV, access control and electronic surveillance systems.

Qualification

•       Graduate in any discipline.

•       Certification in industrial security, fire safety or related field will be an added advantage.
