Purpose of the Role
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of utility equipment and systems during the shift. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, manpower coordination, and maintaining equipment availability to support uninterrupted plant operations.
Job Responsibilities (KRA)
- Manage shift-wise maintenance activities for utility equipment and systems.
- Monitor and maintain compressors, pumps, cooling towers, DG sets, boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, water treatment systems and utility pipelines.
- Attend and troubleshoot breakdowns, equipment failures, and emergency maintenance during the shift.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance as per maintenance schedules.
- Monitor equipment health, operating parameters, vibrations, temperatures, pressures, and other critical parameters.
- Coordinate with production/operations teams for planned maintenance, shutdowns, and equipment isolation.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance jobs with minimum equipment downtime.
- Supervise technicians, operators, and contract manpower during the shift.
- Maintain shift logbooks, breakdown reports, maintenance records, and daily activity reports.
- Identify recurring equipment failures and implement root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Ensure availability of critical spares, tools, and consumables for utility maintenance.
- Follow LOTO, PTW and other safety procedures during maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Support energy-efficiency initiatives and reduction of utility consumption.
- Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation and other maintenance teams for equipment-related issues.
- Participate in shutdown planning, inspection, and commissioning of utility equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in utility areas.

Required Skills - Strong troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance skills.
- Good knowledge of rotating equipment and utility systems.
- Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, P&IDs, and maintenance drawings.
- Good knowledge of RCA, TPM, 5S, LOTO and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong shift management and manpower-handling skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP/CMMS
Qualification: B.E./B. Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience : For BE/ Btech with 4+ Years & Diploma with 6+ Years
